Guided Meditations

Just the word meditation can strike fear into peoples hearts. My own mind was very busy all the time thinking, planning, worrying and overthinking. I found great peace and ease with guided visualisation meditations and have been using them in my therapeutic and coaching practice for a while with wonderful and instant results. Think of meditation as inner (mind) gym, like you work out or train your body, you can train your mind by practicing meditation. It has the power to transform not only our minds but ultimately our whole lives.

This format takes out the internal 'shhhushing' or 'shaming' while we 'try' to quiet down our busy minds and focus on un-focussing. Even when we are resting we are still busy - busy thinking, thinking about what we are thinking. It can be so frustrating trying to hush that monkey mind; and often it results in more stress.


The long-term effects of stress can be detrimental to our health and also lead to anxiety and depression. Meditation and deep relaxation (a byproduct of meditation) have a number of amazing effects on your body: 

  • Meditation slows down brain wave activity and subdues stress which helps regulate your metabolism, stimulate fat cells to reduce the amount of stored fats, and play a role in regulating your blood sugar.

  • Helps calm the adrenals and allow them to rest, relieving them from over-producing cortisol — the stress hormone.

  • Your endocrine system can move out of a state of high alert (fight-or-flight). When your body is not 'running away from an imaginary bear' it can return to its natural homeostasis and  — thyroid, adrenals, sex hormones etc — have an opportunity to come back into balance and restore your body and bio-energy.

  • Meditation allows your body to rest. When your body is in 'rest' it has different brain waves like Alpha, Theta and Delta which restore balance and renew vitality throughout your entire body.

  • Meditation can also improve the quality of your sleep.

  • Meditation alkalizes your system, balancing out acidity, from stress hormones that have built up through the overactivity of your analytical mind and fear-based thinking.

  • Meditation decreases inflammation at the cellular level neutralizing acidosis and alleviating pain.
